Chapter 5 (part 2)> Please Be There...

*Lee's House...

Onew, who reached home by 8.00, starts to panic when EunShi didn't come home even though it's already 9.15. he tried to call her but her phone was turned off. he walks to and fro in front of the door, waiting for her to come home. but, until 9.30, she still didn't come home. feeling uneasy, he calls Ahn...

Ahn: Oppa?
Onew: Ahn!!
Ahn: Uh, wae oppa?
Onew: EunShi, she...
Ahn: Waeyo??
Onew: She still hasn't come back yet. i'm worried!
Ahn: Huh? she's not home??
Onew: No..
Ahn: She didn't tell u?
Onew: She didn't. she only wrote that she'll be home by 9... but it's already 9.30!
Ahn: (sighs) Come on, oppa... it's only half an hour...
Onew: It's not ok! it's late!
Ahn: Uh... have u call her?
Onew: Her phone was off...
Ahn: Mwo??
Onew: Yes..
Ahn: EunShi never turned off her phone...
Onew: That's what i'm talking about...
Ahn: What're we going to do?
Onew: I don't know... i'll go find her somewhere... can u come over?
Ahn: Um... i'll be there!
Onew: Ok then. (hangs up)

*Kim's House...

After having dinner (half-heartedly) with his omma and noona, Kibum enters his room and sits at his study table. he took his phone and reads Jinwoon's text that really wakes him up from his sleep. 

"Maybe u made a promise with her. did u?

-MagnaeJinwoon-"

Promise? he asks himself again. did i made a promise with her before? did i? he starts to think. think about everything. one by one memory that he had with EunShi start to replay in his mind. he tries to remember anything that have anything to do with 'promise'. and it leads him to one thing. the scarf. he pulls the scarf from his bed and stares at it. just then, he remembers. he remembers the promise that EunShi was talking about. he closes his eyes and starts to recall every details about the promise. 

Snap! he opens his eyes. now he understands what EunShi means by 'last chance'. he stands up and looks at his watch, it's already 9. he knows that he have no time to waste. because, there's no time at all. he rushes downstairs with his coat and the scarf...

Mrs. Kim: Kibum! where are going??

Kibum: (wears his shoes) No time omma! i'll be back!!

Mrs. Kim: Kibum!!

Hyunki: (from the stairs) What's the matter, omma?

Mrs. Kim: Kibum! i don't know where he's going...

Hyunki: Hmmm... maybe his friend need his help?

Mrs. Kim: (sighs) I don't know... this boy... (shakes head)

Hyunki: (chuckles) It's fine, omma. he's 16 after all. he'll be fine...

Mrs. Kim: (sighs again) Hope so...

Meanwhile outside, Kibum is running like crazy towards the station. he wants to go to the Boolkottnooli River as fast as he could. he runs so fast until he didn't even care about people around him (actually there's not much of people though). he rushes to the ticket counter...

Kibum: Ahjussi! one ticket to Hana right now! (Boolkottnooli River is located in Hana) 

Ticket seller: Hana? 

Kibum: Yes! i want the next train! when is it???

Ticket seller: The next one is in about one hour time...

Kibum: One hour?? (looks at his watch and it's already 9.45)

Ticket seller: Yes...

Kibum: Aren't there any train before that??

Ticket seller: It just left...

Kibum: Mworago??

Ticket seller: Geez, relax kid... if u want to go there that bad, why don't u just take a cab huh?

Kibum: Uh, ne... (runs towards the cab station)

Driver: Hey, going anywhere, kid?

Kibum: Huh? uh, yes! i need to go the Boolkottnooli River as fast as i could!

Driver: Boolkottnooli? but the show already ended...

Kibum: I don't care!! (enters the cab) just take me there! and bbali!!

Driver: Uh, u're really bossy...

Kibum: Bballi!!

Driver: (starts driving) Ne, ne...

Kibum: (holding the scarf) Please be there, please be there... (teary eyes) jaebal...

*10 p.m., ShioN's Station...

EunShi just got off from her train. it took longer than she expected it would be. probably because the train took another route than its usual route. she walks out of the station slowly, with her wobbly knees. she can barely stands. as the result, she sits on one of the bench in front of the station. she's freezing and shivering. but she didn't care...

One. two. lots of tears start to pour out of her eyes. she crying again. luckily the place she's sitting is kinda out of people sight. so, no one sees her. she cries, and cries. her chest hurts. no, her heart hurts. really hurt. she's in pain. real pain. but, no one knows. nobody. realizing that she can't stay like that forever, since it's getting colder, she stands up and starts walking with a speed that could make a tortoise laugh. but, that's all she can do since her knees won't stop shaking. her head hurts, her eyes hurts, her throats hurts. everything hurt. and as she walk, the pain got worse and worse...

*Lee's House...

Ahn: (rings bell) Oppa, i'm here.
Onew: (opens door) Mianhae for calling u this late...
Ahn: (shakes head) Gwenchana. (worried face) how's EunShi?
Onew: (sighs) Still can't reach her. i called like thousand times but she didn't pick up. she urned it off.
Ahn: I've been texting and mailing her too. but, no reply....
Onew: (rubs hair and sighs) Ok, here's the deal. i'm gonna find her. can u wait here? in case she got home, call me?
Ahn: (nods) Ne... careful oppa...
Onew: Ne... i'm going then... (walks away)

Ahn sits on the stairs in front of the door. she try to call EunShi again but there's no sign that her phone was on. from sitting, she stands and walks to the gate, looking to the right and to the left, sits again, stands back, look again then sits back. she can't stop panicking. she's really worried...

In the meantime, Onew has been looking for EunShi like crazy. he runs here and there, to the park, to the mall, all housing area. he even searched the whole neighborhood, but didn't find her. but, he hasn't given up yet. he rounds again, here and there, running like a crazy guy. it's true though, who runs during a cold night like this? he meets one or two person while his running and they're all looking at him like he's some kind of freak. but e didn't care at all. the only thing in his mind right now is his dongsaeng, EunShi...

*Choi's House...

Minho is lying on his bed when he heard someone opens and closes the gate. he peeks through his window but didn't see who is it. feeling curious, he went downstairs (to the hall) and asks Taemin who's watching the TV...

Minho: Is it Ahn Soo who's going out just now?
Taemin: (nods) Yup.
Minho: Where is she going?
Taemin: (thinks) Um... i heard she's talking to Onew hyung about EunShi noona.. but i don't know what it is...
Minho: Oh, (nods) i see...
Taemin: Waeyo?
Minho: Just, just curious...
Taemin: Oh...

Minho leans against the wall and starts thinking. suddenly he remembers things that happened in school today. he recalls the 'silent conversation' between EunShi and Kibum which they're talking about 'today' and 'tonight' but it doesn't seems to be a one-to-one conversation since Kibum doesn't seems to understand it either. then when EunShi cried (not exactly cry but, sort of) and how cold her words towards him was. he starts to feel suspicious. what does the 'thing' that Onew told Ahn about EunShi that made her runs like that? did something happened to her? is she alright? all sorts of questions start to pop in his mind. those questions really burdens his mind till the point he can't stands it anymore, he grabs his coat and muffler and runs out of the house. leaving Taemin shaking his head in the hall...

Taemin: I really can't understand them... (shakes head and watch the TV again)
